The Cinematic Greatness of Vienna

Vienna is the capital of Austria and has a long-standing tradition of theater, opera, music and fine arts. Burg Kino

The Burg Kino is the only centrally located establishment that shows only English-language films and is perfect for those tourist looking for a little piece of home. Gartenbau Kino

The Gartenbau Kino is one of the favorite art-houses in Vienna and even Austria at large. In light of large mega-plex theatres, this theatre is a diamond in the ruff. This establishment has thick carpets, extraordinarily plush seats, wall sconces and a timeless elegance the modern structures could never match. The seating is well over 700 and the screen is very large in order to accommodate roaring crowds. This theatre is one of the oldest in Vienna and was completely refurnished in 1960 to redefine its classic splendor. This venue is the site of Vienna's annual international film festival that occurs during the fall. If you're feeling a bit conversational, this theatre has an in-house café in the foyer. This place is a traveler's delight and should definitely be sought out while in Vienna.
